R&B singer Jhené Aiko is setting the record straight after releasing Westside Whimsy, her new album, amid speculation about her new music and her former partner, Big Sean. The Jasmine Brand’s Kellie Williams broke the news on Friday.

The R&B singer recently addressed social media chatter linking lyrics from her new album to her relationship with the “IDFWU” rapper.

A social media user shared lyrics attributed to a song from the album. The post suggested Aiko was singing about discovering that a partner had been unfaithful.

The lyrics describe trying to turn a casual relationship into something serious. They also reference transforming a promise into a wedding ring and an unfaithful partner into a husband.

Given Aiko and Big Sean’s history, some fans quickly assumed the lyrics were about the rapper.

Aiko, however, personally addressed the speculation. Responding to the post from her verified account, she offered a simple clarification.

“Song is not about him,” Aiko wrote.
