On Tuesday night, she shared a video of herself walking through the studio with the caption, “Back at Atlantic records correctional facilities.” The post quickly went viral, with fans humorously noting the prolonged wait for her much-anticipated sophomore album.

Fan reactions were varied. Some took to X (formerly Twitter) to joke about Cardi’s studio struggles, with one user saying, “She just like me when it’s time to go to work.” Others criticized the delay, arguing that Cardi missed the optimal release window. “She should’ve dropped when she was supposed to originally… could’ve been playing the songs on the radio though the summer instead of the winter… now they have to push the music into award season instead of when it’s hot,” one commenter noted.

But then I want to do a pop record. I want to do my sing-y sht.”

Adding to her challenges, Cardi has faced legal issues all summer. This includes a lawsuit against her former manager. The lawsuit involves alleged misuse of funds and breach of contract, dating back to July. The legal battle has added to the stress surrounding her album’s production.
