Gearing up for the release of his upcoming album Bando Stone & The New World, set to release later this month, Childish Gambino hosted a listening party in New York City recently that got fans hyped.
The new album is a part of a bigger multi-media project that sees a film involved. The recent listening party gave New Yorkers a preview of what to expect from the multi-faceted artist. Tapping Steve Lacy and Foushée to perform at the preview show, the collaboration gave further insight to fans, making it highly anticipated LP. Childish Gambino has been busy with the album’s rollout, with the first single from the project, “Lithonia,” recently hitting streamers.
With “Lithonia,” fans recognize that Childish Gambino seems to be moving towards the alt-rock direction. Clips from the listening event show that the album will be an eclectic mix of soul, electronic, funk and hip-hop undertones. The last album before Bando Stone was Childish Gambino’s 3.15.20 in 2020. The new film set to accompany the release of the album will see Bando Stone soundtrack the project, though not much is known at the moment.
Look out for the album arriving on July 19.
