Teyana Taylor is taking legal action against her ex-husband, Iman Shumpert, accusing him of leaking confidential details about their divorce. Reports indicate that Taylor is asking a judge to hold Shumpert in contempt and sentence him to 20 days in jail, along with imposing the maximum fines.
According to TMZ, Taylor believes Shumpert deliberately shared details of their divorce agreement with the media, which led to public scrutiny and online harassment. The leak allegedly came shortly after she was spotted with actor Aaron Pierre, further fueling controversy.
Taylor is pushing back against claims that their divorce terms were a “settlement,” clarifying that it was a court-ordered judgment. She maintains that she was simply awarded assets she already owned, including multiple cars and a tour bus. Additionally, Taylor received four properties, while Shumpert retained three, including a Miami condo he had previously gifted her.
Despite the recent headlines, the couple’s divorce was finalized last year. Court documents at the time revealed that Taylor walked away with four properties worth over $10 million, full ownership of her businesses, and an extensive collection of vehicles, including a Maybach, a Mercedes Sprinter, and a Bronco truck.
Shumpert, on the other hand, was awarded the Miami condo and two Georgia compounds, along with all of his investments. He was also required to make a one-time seven-figure payment to Taylor, pay $8,000 a month in child support, and cover their daughters’ private school tuition.
Taylor originally filed for divorce in January 2023, months before they publicly confirmed their split. Her filing cited Shumpert’s alleged “cruel” treatment and “extreme narcissistic behavior” as key reasons for their separation.
Shumpert has yet to comment on the allegations.
