Travis Scott seemingly caused a real injury to Cody Rhodes during their brief clash in the ring at WWE’s recent Elimination Chamber event.

The Houston rapper made a surprise appearance at the Toronto show on Saturday (March 1), walking The Rock to the ring as his chart-topping single “FE!N” blasted through the arena. The confrontation began with WWE Champion Cody Rhodes facing off against John Cena and The Rock—moments before Cena delivered a stunning betrayal, turning against Rhodes to stand with The Rock in a seismic shift for wrestling history. With Rhodes bloodied and face down on the mat, Cena and The Rock pounced before Scott joined in—punctuating the ambush with a resounding slap across the champion’s face.

A new report from Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio suggests the injury was legitimate, not scripted for television. “Cody got hurt. I’m pretty sure it was Travis Scott that did it,” Meltzer voiced, noting he’d heard Rhodes suffered “a busted eardrum and a black eye.” Rhodes was reportedly treated at a local hospital and discharged, though WWE has yet to confirm the injury.

The Rock Suggests Travis Scott Could Make WWE Debut Following Surprise WrestleMania Appearance

Furthermore, The Rock weighed in on the “SICKO MODE” rapper’s role during the post-event press conference.

“[Travis] wanted to get his hands bloody. I whispered to him as he was going out [to the ring]. I said, ‘If you’re gonna get your hands bloody, make it count.’ He slapped the shit of Cody tonight. He was really, really hyped up,” he stated. “He loves the business. We get guys and girls like that who want to come in and who are already tapping in culture and disrupting culture in their own cool way.” He continued, “Maybe they want to sit and enjoy, maybe they want to be on camera. But then some want to get involved and then some, like Travis, deeply want to get involved. And that’s what you saw tonight.”

Johnson hinted that the rap icon, who has teamed up with WWE in the past, is gearing up to step into the ring for a match of his own. “Yes, that’s why we’re doing it. I love Travis. That’s my guy,” he voiced. “We have this opportunity to create this big moment in pro wrestling that is arguably one of the biggest — maybe the biggest, some fans’ words, not mine — and we also had an opportunity to bring Travis Scott in too and start to form a union, an alliance with The Final Boss and Travis Scott.”
