Trey Songz Arrested In Manhattan For Alleged Assault Of Nightclub Employee

R&B singer Trey Songz, legally known as Tremaine Neverson, was arrested in Manhattan following two alleged early-morning incidents that prosecutors say involved an assault at Mira, a Times Square nightclub, and property damage at a separate venue, according to New York court filings.

Neverson was taken into custody after an alleged altercation at Dramma Night Club in the Times Square area on Dec. 4. Prosecutors contend the incident occurred at approximately 4:25 a.m. when venue staff informed Neverson that the club was closing.

According to the criminal complaint, the interaction escalated into a confrontation. Prosecutors allege Neverson struck a nightclub employee in the face, causing swelling and pain. He was charged with third-degree assault, a misdemeanor under New York Penal Law.

Court records show Neverson later became involved in a separate incident that same morning at Mira, a Manhattan restaurant and hookah lounge. Prosecutors allege that property was damaged during that encounter, leading to a second-degree criminal mischief charge.

Authorities estimate the alleged damage at Mira totaled approximately $1,500. Items listed in the filings include hookahs, DJ equipment, and furniture. Under New York law, second-degree criminal mischief may be charged as a felony when damage exceeds a statutory threshold.

Neverson, 41, appeared Sunday in Manhattan Criminal Court for arraignment on both matters. The court addressed the assault charge tied to the nightclub incident and the criminal mischief charge related to the restaurant.

A judge released Neverson pending further proceedings and imposed court-ordered conditions. The court also issued a temporary order of protection in favor of the alleged assault victim, according to prosecutors.

Neverson’s attorney said in a statement that the singer is cooperating with the legal process and expects the facts to be developed through court proceedings. The defense also referenced a separate confrontation in which individuals allegedly attempted to surround Neverson, prompting intervention by his security team.
